The expression Pura Vida used on a daily and current basis between the local population called "ticos" perfectly expresses the lifestyle on this country and its meaning can be easily described in three emotions: tranquility, respect for nature and kindness. More recently and for the foreigners, this expression has become connected with a simple life and surfer spirit. Relaxation, tranquillity and health combined with nature, where time is of no importance and kindness is spontaneous. In fact, the most credible origin of this expression is that it became popular during the ´50´s when the first foreigner surfers came to the country, interacted with the "ticos" and identified themselves with this lifestyle. 
Whichever the origin of this expression, the truth is that these two words perfectly describe what Costa Rica is. For this reason, we have chosen the name Pura Vida Surf Tours and it is with that spirit and lifestyle that we want to show you the best of what this country has to offer.
We offer different services: we organize your stay, we look for the best surf spots in the country depending on the swell condition, time of year, surfing level and whichever are your personal ideals of wave perfection. You can chose from one of our packages or we can set up a personal one for you. We rent your car or you can use our private transportation, we book the hotels, we rent and sell surfing accessories and boards, we organize boat trips to more remote spots (Witche´s Rock, Ollies Point, Matapalo...), we search for the best surf conditions and we travel around the country searching for perfect waves. You don´t have to worry about anything, just surf... Apart from these incredible surfing conditions, Costa Rica also gives you the opportunity to interact with almost 5% of the world´s biodiversity. We are also conscious of the ecological importance of this country, which holds almost 5% of the Planet´s biodiversity. For us, it is unquestionable that its natural resources must be protected for future generations. Therefore, we compromise our activity to the preservation of this incredible and unique country. All our packages are combined with nature, we totally respect the local population and its cultural traditions and we work with hotels that have the least impact on the environment.
